Harmony RPC: Why should you choose it?

Harmony is the first sharded EVM-compatible blockchain with smart contracts. It was introduced in 2018 by Stephen Tse. Mainnet operations of Harmony nodes kicked off in 2019. The platform raised initial funding through an IEO on Binance Launchpad.

  • Harmony leverages Effective Proof-of-Stake (EPoS) consensus as a way to address the challenges of blockchain trilemma. Unlike in classic PoS systems, it penalizes the validators for getting too much influence.

  • Harmony is also well-known for its developed cross-chain bridges ecosystem. ONE nodes are seamlessly connected to BNB Smart Chain (BNB), Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin (BTC), and so on.

  • Thanks to the sharding system, Harmony nodes don’t need to store the full history of transactions. In total, there is a limit of 250 validators slots per shard that makes the opportunities for decentralization really impressive.

ONE token is a core native cryptocurrency of this blockchain. Like in many PoS-centric blockchains, ONE serves as a transactions fees payment instrument, governance tool for referendums, as well as staking tokens.
