FAQ

Everything you need to know about Polygon RPC nodes, network access, and choosing the right setup for your dApp.

Polygon performance notes

Polygon PoS is an EVM-compatible proof of stake chain that commits checkpoints to Ethereum. Blocks arrive about every two seconds, and Ethereum contracts, wallets and tooling work unchanged. The Rio upgrade in October 2025 replaced rotating block producers with one elected producer and standby backups, which Polygon says brings near-instant finality and a path to about 5,000 TPS. Heimdall v2 validators still run consensus. Typical fees run a cent or two, paid in POL.

GetBlock runs Polygon full and archive nodes on Bor with Heimdall, or on Erigon, in Frankfurt, New York and Singapore, for mainnet and the Amoy testnet. Limitless Nodes give flat-rate throughput from 25 RPS, and Dedicated Nodes add analytics, RPC failover, IP allowlists and custom endpoint URLs. Webhooks and Data Streams push wallet and contract events without polling, on the same account and API key as your nodes.
