Launched in 2012, Bytecoin is the first-ever privacy focused cryptocurrency. It means that it pioneered by-default transactions obfuscating in order to let its users send tokens in untraceable manner without doxxing risks.

  • The realization of Cryptonote in the network inspired the creation of Monero (XMR), a most popular privacy focused cryptocurrency in the segment. Initially, it leveraged Java implementation of its codebase, but then switched to C++ as the main programming language.

  • It leverages Cryptonote protocol based on an EdDSA ring signatures scheme proposed by Daniel Bernstein. All its transactions are mixed so that no one is able to recover the amount of value transferred and the addresses of sender and recipient.
