Ontology: Why should you choose it?

Ontology is a veteran EVM-compatible smart contracts platform. It launched in mainnet in late Q4, 2017. The blockchain supports Solidity smart contracts, but interacts with dApps in its unique manner.

  • Since it is a fast programmable blockchain, ONT RPC APIs are suitable for deploying various classes of cryptocurrency applications: DeFi protocols, DEXes, on-chain wallets, NFT marketplaces, GameFis, and metaverses.

  • The network is connected to all major blockchains via the ecosystem of non-custodial bridges. Its decentralized identity solution ONT ID is supported by Ethereum, Near, Neo, TRON, Klaytn, Binance Smart Chain, and Polkadot blockchains.

  • The blockchain works with its own type of virtual machine, OEVM. It closely resembles Ethereum Virtual Machine: Ethereum- and Polygon-based dApps can migrate to Ontology with minor code changes.

  • Immediately upon launch, the blockchain introduced a number of tech novelties including the likes of VBFT algorithm, the Ontology framework for developers, and the Triones Consensus System.

Since it is a fast programmable blockchain, ONT RPC APIs are suitable for deploying various classes of cryptocurrency applications: DeFi protocols, DEXes, on-chain wallets, NFT marketplaces, GameFis, and metaverses.
