Since Q2 2024, GetBlock has added two high-performance L2 solutions to its stack of supported blockchains. Both are implementations of the OP Stack, Optimism’s open-source framework for EVM networks.

Blast RPC Endpoints Added by GetBlock

GetBlock, a top-tier Web3 infrastructure provider, announces another expansion to its RPC nodes kit. Starting from April 2024, it will support Blast and opBNB, two EVM-compatible second-layer solutions based on the OP Stack by Optimism.

Both blockchains are available in shared and dedicated node modes. While all users of GetBlock can try these endpoints for free, paid packages offering 5 million requests are available for $29. Additionally, GetBlock can deploy and manage archive nodes for dApps on these new blockchains.

Introduced in November 2023, Blast rapidly gained traction as the fastest-growing L2 in the history of the Ethereum ecosystem. It was created by Tieshun “Pacman” Roquerre, founder of the Blur NFT marketplace, and is backed by the legendary VC firm, Paradigm.

Blast's unique selling proposition (USP) has garnered significant attention due to its tokenomics design, which is fundamentally based on staking. The protocol’s mainnet launched in January 2024.

Blast RPC endpoints are available on GetBlock via WebSockets, JSON-RPC, gRPC, and GraphQL interfaces.

opBNB RPC APIs Now Supported

Additionally, GetBlock is one of the first blockchain infrastructure providers to activate opBNB RPC nodes. Launched in mid-August 2023, opBNB is a high-performance second-layer scalability solution for the BNB Chain, a mainstream smart contracts platform. opBNB utilizes the OP Stack, an open-source L2 building framework developed by the creators of Optimism, a major Ethereum scaler.

Being fully EVM-compatible, opBNB has a 100 MB block size and achieves a throughput of 4,000 TPS. It also ranks among the least expensive L2 solutions, with a median transaction fee of $0.005. The blockchain is underpinned by Binance Coin (BNB), the cornerstone of Binance’s ecosystem tokenomics.
opBNB is well-suited for all types of EVM-based decentralized applications, with a particular focus on DeFis and on-chain gaming apps.

GetBlock invites all Web3 developers to experiment with these new blockchains and harness the disruptive power of next-generation L2s.
