Primary features
DoubleZero is a decentralized infrastructure (DePIN) protocol creating a high-performance mesh network of dedicated fiber links, optimized for blockchain and other distributed systems. It reduces latency, filters spam and redundant data at the network edge, and aligns economic incentives via token-based rewards.
- Over 70 global fiber links in 25+ cities
- Dual-ring architecture (outer & inner rings)
- FPGA-based edge filtration (spam, duplicates, signature verification)
- Smart contracts govern routing, SLAs, incentives
- Native token “2Z” for access & contributor rewards
Work principles
DoubleZero works by combining physical infrastructure contributions, specialized hardware, and onchain governance to build a fast, verifiable network layer beneath or alongside existing blockchains. It separates traffic filtering from consensus-critical transmissions and uses dedicated routes for deterministic performance.
- Contributors supply dedicated fiber links and endpoints (DZDs)
- Edge hardware filters at ingress (FPGA devices)
- Inner ring routes filtered, valid traffic via optimized fiber mesh
- Smart contract controller defines routing, quality, pricing dynamically
- Exchange points (DZXs) interconnect local links for redundancy & efficiency
- Multicast and routing optimizations reduce duplication and jitter
User benefits
Users of DoubleZero (validators, RPC operators, cross-chain systems etc.) gain faster, more reliable communication, less wasted computation, and more predictable performance. The protocol also enables new capabilities in latency-sensitive use cases, all while maintaining permissionless participation for contributors.
- Much lower latency & jitter for validator consensus messages
- Reduced load on validators via offloading spam & duplicates
- More predictable transaction / state propagation times
- Transparent measurement of route/link performance
- Incentives for infrastructure providers via 2Z token
- Ability to access priority or base-level networking options
