article cover

On October 24th, Bitcoin (BTC) recorded a new all-time high of hashrate and mining difficulty. Based on the graphs by BTC.com, BTC hashrate reaches 258.68 exahash per second (EH/s), whereas the recorded difficulty equates to 36.84 trillion - a 3.44% increase since the previously registered numbers.

The network’s growing mining difficulty and hashrate show that despite the BTC price currently bouncing around the $19k level, the miners’ interest in the Bitcoin platform does not decrease.

Bitcoin (BTC) difficulty chart signifies resistance

Bitcoin mining difficulty indicates how much time it takes to solve a cryptographic puzzle, in other words - finding the right hash for a block. The level of mining difficulty is subject to change over time, meaning it is able to decrease or increase depending on various factors.
