About
Arsenii Galkov is a Site Reliability Engineer at GetBlock, where he brought RPC availability to its 99.9%+ target and carries out the optimization work that cut bare-metal costs by 40%. He single-handedly built GetBlock's Reth fork with Erigon's overlay_* namespace and a cross-region standby node system with sub-second failover. His Nomad and Consul experience includes migrating more than 1,000 nodes to Kubernetes.
Arsenii Galkov is a Site Reliability Engineer at GetBlock, a blockchain RPC infrastructure platform. He started his engineering career at GetBlock in July 2023 and works on the reliability and cost efficiency of the company's node fleet and the infrastructure around it.
He brought GetBlock's RPC availability to its 99.9%+ target and allocates the error budget so that infrastructure changes and node client upgrades fit within it. Cost optimization is the other half of his work: offloading servers and right-sizing nodes has cut bare-metal infrastructure costs by 40% from the starting baseline.
In the on-call rotation, he is the escalation point for incidents that reach node client code and sidecars, or the low-level components between them.
He single-handedly designed and built two of GetBlock's performance-critical systems. The first is a Reth fork for Ethereum, OP Mainnet, and Base that adds Erigon's overlay_* RPC namespace and replaces an unmaintained Erigon fork on OP Stack chains. The second is a multi-tier standby node system across three regions with sub-second failover.
Arsenii builds services in Go and Rust. GetBlock originally ran on HashiCorp Nomad and Consul; he has deep hands-on experience with that stack and worked on migrating more than 1,000 nodes from it to Kubernetes. He holds a vocational diploma in network and system administration.
