GIWA performance notes
GIWA is an Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain built on the OP Stack, developed by Dunamu, the operator of Upbit exchange. It runs as a self-managed rollup with its own sequencer and produces blocks roughly every second with EVM-equivalent execution. Transactions move through three stages — unsafe, safe, and finalized — as data settles to Ethereum. Gas is paid in ETH. The network also supports Flashblocks, which provides transaction preconfirmation signals in up to about 200 milliseconds, before the regular one-second block is sealed.
GIWA aims to make Web3 more accessible, with a particular focus on connecting blockchain applications with everyday use cases and financial services. It's building towards support for KRW and global stablecoins, while its ecosystem includes Upbit-linked identity and attestation infrastructure through Dojang. These characteristics make GIWA particularly relevant to payment, consumer, and financial applications where low fees, fast block production, and responsive transaction UX are important.
