We are looking forward to implementing more new features in the coming months that will expand the GetBlock infrastructure and allow our clients to build their applications without spending their valuable resources.

Meanwhile, we stay focused on our goal – to provide users with access to full nodes from many leading blockchain platforms and allow them to request on-chain information from a virtual node without the need to set up one manually.

So, what has October brought to us? Keep reading to learn about the updated version of the GetBlock website, new existing partnerships, tracing for ETH, new nodes as well as their versions’ updates.

Website Redesign

The updated version of the GetBlock website was launched at the beginning of October.

The service webpage has a new simple interface and intuitive design; we have also created new images and refreshed the concept of a home page. There were added some new sections such as “Trusted by our Partners” and “How to Get Started with GetBlock”.

We decided to upgrade the site so that it would be accessible and user friendly as possible for all of the past, present, and future users and guests.

Partnerships

Kevin Lu, the Head of Business Development and Growth at Band Protocol said in the official announcement:

This collaboration between both teams brings critical on-chain data into the hands of developers and enthusiasts which in turn expands the presence of Band Protocol to all the users of GetBlock.

  • GetBlock Partners with the Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne
    We are proud to announce our partnership with the world-ranked Swinburne University of Technology. Our team is excited to cooperate with their Blockchain Innovation Lab for blockchain application development.

  • GetBlock Partners with the SimpleSwap Cryptocurrency Exchange
    GetBlock partnered with SimpleSwap, a cryptocurrency exchange that allows to swap BTC and altcoins in an easy way and works without registration and limits. Now they use the GetBlock service and can analyze and monitor their app without wasting time and effort for deploying and maintaining full blockchain nodes themselves.

Transaction Tracing for ETH

From now on, GetBlock offers tracing for the ETH node. This feature allows you to request the node to reexecute the desired transaction with varying degrees of data collection.

The process of how the Ethereum node reexecutes a transaction is explained in Tracing: Introduction. It needs to have available all historical state accessed by the transaction:

  • Balance, nonce, bytecode, and storage of both the recipient as well as all internally invoked contracts;
  • Block metadata referenced during execution of both the outer as well as all internally created transactions;
  • Intermediate state generated by all preceding transactions contained in the same block as the one being traced.

New Nodes

We are constantly adding new nodes, and the following nodes have appeared on our platform this month:

To start using a node, please get your personal API key.
Let us know if you would like your node to be launched and maintained by GetBlock. We are glad to cooperate with blockchain-based projects and will do our best to add the requested node to our platform.

Node Version Updates

The following nodes had their versions updated:
