Mr. Hoskinson has taken to Twitter to comment on the progress of Vasil hardfork. In a recent video, he informed the community about large-scale testing efforts.
undefinedAccording to his statement, by August, 2022, the team disclosed a number of bugs in potential codebase for the upgrade and is working heads down to mitigate them. As such, the Cardano (ADA) update inches closer to its activation.
Next phase of its implementation will include the interaction with centralized exchanges. Once their teams will be ready to upgrade its Cardano (ADA) APIs, the fork will be ready for the activation.
Cardano Vasil hard fork date adjusted by team
In order to stress-test Vasil codebase thoroughly, Cardano (ADA) engineers decided to postpone the tentative date of its mainnet activation. As of today, they’re going to activate the Vasil upgrade in September, 2022.
The upcoming hardfork is set to feature four Cardano Improvement Proposals (CIPs). CIP-31 will introduce Reference Inputs to advance data logistics in Cardano. CIP-32: Inline Datums will make dApps development on Cardano (ADA) more flexible than ever before.
CIP-33: Reference Scripts is set to upgrade the design of Plutus, a Cardano-native programming language for dApps and DeFis. Finally, CIP-40: Collateral Outputs will make the blockchain more resilient against DDoS-attacks.
