FAQ

Explorers FAQs

What is a blockchain explorer?

Blockchain explorer works similarly to a browser: it makes all blocks, wallets, and transactions in this or that blockchain visible through a graphic interface.

It is a crypto transactions tracker: users can check transaction status, block history and wallet balance in a couple of clicks.

Who uses a block explorer?

Actually, block explorers are important to all users of cryptocurrency.

Those who just transact money can check whether their transactions are verified by blockchain. NFT holders can check the authenticity of their tokens.

With block explorers, transaction hash become invoices: with our transaction hash check option, you can create a document to confirm your transaction.

What is an explorer by GetBlock?

GetBlock’s explorer is an easy-to-use instrument designed to verify the transactions in various blockchains, restore them via hashes, check the blocks and miners, and so on.

Blockchain explorer by GetBlock has a newbie-friendly interface suitable even for crypto enthusiasts with a basic level of expertise.

Is it just a tool for tracking crypto transactions?

No, GetBlock’s explorer is also suitable for getting various insights about what is going on inside this or that blockchain.

Besides one-click crypto transaction check, it displays block height, the details of last blocks added to blockchain, current status of validators and so on.

What is the difference between Getblock’s explorer and its competitors?

1. Ultimate accuracy. Our blockchain explorer is developed by GetBlock’s team: we provide node APIs for 40+ blockchains as our instruments handle 5M+ requests every minute. As such, we only broadcast up-to-date information from our own nodes with zero latency.

2. Polished easy-to-use interface. Newbies and crypto OGs can seamlessly browse through blockchain data with our navigation scheme.

Which blockchains are available with GetBlock explorer?

Right now, we support ‘Ethereum killer’ Near Protocol (NEAR), one of the most powerful decentralized applications hosting. In coming weeks, we’re going to integrate numerous platforms such as:

1. Leading smart contracts platforms: Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, Fantom, and so on.

2. Crypto heavyweights with no smart contracts: Bitcoin, Litecoin, XRP.

In total, GetBlock’s stack of nodes boasts 40+ blockchains and counting: we add new networks monthly. Decentralized applications of our customers handle thousands of cryptocurrency transactions per second, i.e. the maximum for selected blockchains.

What is the difference between confirmed and unconfirmed transactions?

Confirmed transaction: sender authorized transaction, blockchain included it into its register, i.e. all blockchain participants (miners, validators) deemed it valid.

Unconfirmed transaction: sender authorized transaction, but the network hasn’t approved it: the data about this transaction is saved in mempool and is waiting for confirmation.

Someone just sent me txID: How can I start a transaction hash check?

Once the transaction is added to the blockchain, it is labeled by a unique identification number, i.e. transaction ID, txid or transaction hash.

With GetBlock’s explorer, you can restore all details of a transaction (sender, recipient, time, amount of crypto, block number, and so on) via its hash. You just need to enter a hash into the transaction id lookup box and start checking.
