GetBlock, a top-tier Web3 infrastructure provider, announces the release of its new AppChain launch solution. Any dApp team interested in creating its own application-specific blockchain can now deploy it seamlessly with GetBlock. This service is offered in collaboration with Power DCloud, innovators in decentralized web solutions.

AppChain launcher by GetBlock and Power DCloud goes live

Starting in mid-November 2024, GetBlock, a mainstream RPC node provider, and Power DCloud, a decentralized web protocol, are offering a Modular AppChain launch service. In a Lego-like manner, any team can now deploy and activate its own app-specific blockchain.

On this new chain, teams will be able to customize every setting, from consensus type to node design, reward currency, economic incentives, and more. By default, Modular AppChains on this new service rely on advanced BFT consensus, developed by Power DCloud, a strategic partner of GetBlock.

Beyond modularity, transparency, and robustness, GetBlock’s AppChains offer enhanced cross-chain compatibility. From the onset of operations, any AppChain from GetBlock’s launcher is seamlessly compatible with over 100 EVM blockchains.

Arseniy Voitenko, CEO of GetBlock, welcomes the latest addition to the platform’s product stack:

“For us at GetBlock, the release of the Modular AppChain dashboard is a natural expansion of our infrastructure offerings. We’re confident that our AppChains will enable Web3 businesses to accelerate scaling and enhance performance for new customer cohorts.”

All features and benefits of the new product are detailed on the official landing page. Teams are invited to book a call with lead developers and begin Modular AppChain deployment.

What is an AppChain, and Why do you need one?

As one of the hottest Web3 trends of 2024, Modular AppChains are application-specific blockchains that can be customized and optimized for the needs of a particular decentralized application (dApp) or DAO. They allow developers to design and deploy their own blockchain with specifications tailored to the app’s unique requirements, rather than relying on a general-purpose (monolithic) blockchain like Ethereum or Solana.

The surging interest in AppChains aligns with a market evolving toward rationality, efficiency, and flexibility. In September 2024, prominent crypto researcher Mason Nystrom discussed this trend in the Blockchain Letter from Pantera Capital, a blockchain VC firm with $4.2 billion in AUM:

“Every large app should eventually launch its own L1 or L2 chain. ... Applications naturally evolve toward launching their own chains as they scale, driven by three core reasons: 1) the desire for greater control over economics and value capture, 2) control and customization of blockspace, and 3) demand for blockspace will eventually exceed capacity on mainnet.”

Modular AppChains are especially important for the GameFi and DePIN sectors. In Web3 gaming, several major players including the likes of Sega and Namco have already launched their validators for various AppChain ecosystems.

Now is the perfect time to explore Modular AppChains by GetBlock for your business.
