Oasis Sapphire is a privacy-first, EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain utilizing Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) for encrypted state. It supports confidential smart contracts with flexible privacy levels from fully private to fully public. Sapphire integrates with other EVM chains through the Oasis Privacy Layer for seamless cross-chain confidentiality.
Security derives from Intel SGX TEEs encrypting contract execution and state, preventing node operators from viewing sensitive data.
