For this discussion, Joan Williams, our beloved Head of Marketing here at GetBlock, sat down with the team at SimpleSwap, a user-friendly crypto exchange with fiat support. Together, they explored SimpleSwap’s accomplishments, ambitions, and insights into the broader market trends.

Joan Williams: Hey guys, thank you for joining us. Reflecting on 2024, what are some of the most impactful achievements or milestones that have shaped SimpleSwap’s journey this year? How has SimpleSwap grown as a platform in the Web3 ecosystem?
SimpleSwap: Hey Joan! Well, 2024 has been a really exciting year for us! We’ve hit some major milestones that have taken our platform to the next level and hopefully made a real difference for our users.
- We’ve listed 742 new coins bringing the total number of featured cryptocurrencies to over 2,000, making sure our users can always find what they’re looking for.
- We’ve also introduced a transparent cashback system in top coins (BTC and USDT), and enhanced our Loyalty Program to make rewards more accessible.
- Launched an Invite system that lets users earn from their network.
- On the usability front, we’ve added features like an address book for quick exchanges and two-factor authentication.
- Beyond the platform, we held 15 major social media events, including a trading contest, and published over 100 research pieces, with our analytics team now delivering quarterly crypto reports.
By improving our platform, we hope to help our users to achieve their goals and give them all necessary tools to succeed in the dynamic crypto market.
J.W.: What advice would you give to aspiring platforms in the DeFi and crypto space that are aiming to build user trust and engagement?
S: At SimpleSwap, we believe building trust and engagement starts with truly listening to users: understanding their needs and concerns. Transparency is key: being upfront builds credibility. Offering what genuinely adds value and helps with their journey (user-friendly tools, strong security measures, accessible rewards, as well as knowledge) helps create a platform that people not only trust but actively want to engage with.
J.W.: If you could associate SimpleSwap’s 2024 journey with a holiday movie or festive tradition, what would it be and why?
S: Our 2024 journey was a bit like The Holiday. We had new adventures (just like the characters!), faced some tough challenges head-on, experienced a lot of growth, and became closer to our community along the way. We launched new features and really pushed our boundaries. Stepping outside our comfort zone, like they do in the movie, led to some awesome wins, and we're excited to keep that energy going into the future!
J.W.: What’s one key lesson SimpleSwap learned this year that will guide your strategies and initiatives in 2025?
S: This past year, we did our best to use the power of user-centric innovation. When it comes to the features like the address book or enhancing our Loyalty Program, listening to our users’ feedback made a huge difference. Going forward, we will keep focusing on transparency, usability, and always keeping an eye on the trends within the crypto space to meet the needs of our growing community.
J.W.: In the spirit of the holidays, what message would you like to share with our community and supporters who’ve been part of your journey this year?
