We continue our TON services series, and now, we’ll look at the best wallets for TON. Wallets are basic tools for tracking and transferring on-chain assets, and every crypto journey begins with a wallet. So, let’s dive deeper to see what is TON wallet and whether it’s a “wallet” in common sense.

Spoiler: not at all.

Introduction to TON crypto wallets

Before that, let’s remind us what TON is and how it works. After that, we’ll explore the crypto wallet fundamentals—and the best examples of TON coin wallets.

The Open Network and its features

TON, standing for The Open Network, is a programmable blockchain originally developed by Pavel and Nikolai Durov, creators of the Telegram messenger. Nowadays, the network is governed by the TON Foundation, and everyone participating in the community and keeping TON on their wallets can contribute to the network development.

There are many various financial apps, games, community applications, and other projects on this chain, most of which are accessible via Telegram bots.

What is a TON wallet?

To understand the TON network wallet, let’s explore the crypto wallets in general.

They are decentralized applications (dApps) that automate the users’ requests to the blockchain to fetch data about their finances and manage them in different ways. They also provide a convenient interface to do that. Users can generate wallet addresses, private keys, and seed phrases to work with their wallets. Basically, different wallets provide just different interfaces for the same operations.

It’s possible to perform all that without a wallet, but it’s much harder. It requires the manual usage of blockchain methods to generate addresses, access on-chain assets, and send them to others. Wallets automate these processes and make them easily accessible without the need to use methods manually.

Key features of TON wallets

Shortly: they must protect users’ private keys and seed phrases at any price, and cannot store them in any form.

TON wallet address and its importance

Basically, a crypto wallet just provides a convenient interface to manage your assets, which are located on-chain and are accessible via the combination of public and private keys. The public key allows users to send tokens, but only the private key grants access to these tokens. Therefore, those who know a wallet’s private key may initiate the fund transfer from the wallet.

A public key is similar to a mailbox where everyone may drop a letter to you, but only you can open it to access them—with your private key.

Public and private keys for crypto wallets

When we talk about the TON wallet address, we usually mean the public key, as it’s the identifier that enables others to send tokens to this wallet or track its transactions.

Wallets also use seed phrases, unique identifiers of a certain wallet. It contains a series of 12 or 24 random English words, generated during the wallet creation. They must be typed in a certain order to access the wallet.

As there are hundreds of thousands of words in English, the number of possible combinations is near infinite. It’s nearly impossible to hack them, as immense computer power would be required to try all possible combinations.

TON wallets use 24-word seed phrases, as one may see before.

The seed phrase and private keys will be the same across all wallets, as each of them performs the same function: provides you with a convenient interface to manage your TON assets. As mentioned, it’s possible even without a wallet but requires manual writing and deploying the TON methods, which is much more complicated.

Wallets automate all of that, making your work with TON much more convenient. But still, it’s important to care about your security during that.

Accessibility and security

TON wallets are available as APK files, browser extensions, or web tools, with different functionalities unique for each wallet. Many of them also have Telegram bots. Users can access their funds by typing a seed phrase into each of these interfaces.

Best TON wallets protect all information that users input into them and delete it as soon as possible. They cannot store user’s private keys or seed phrases, because it would make them highly insecure. The moment when the user inputs their seed phrase to restore the wallet is the most vulnerable one: a hacker can potentially steal the phrase at this moment.

Therefore, it’s essential that a wallet fetches the wallet information using a seed phrase, downloads it to the user’s computer, and instantly deletes all data about the user’s private keys or seed phrases.

TON wallet apps usually provide other features for digital asset management, such as token swap, staking, NFT exploring, and dApp interaction. They can be a good starting point for interacting with dApps, NFTs, and communities, trading tokens, and selling crypto for fiat currencies, such as USD and EUR.

Still, there are specific apps for all these activities, despite wallets being crucial as the basic interface for interacting with crypto. And it’s always better to build such apps with a robust node infrastructure for working with TON—that’s where GetBlock will never ta

  1. TON Space in Telegram
  2. Tonkeeper
  3. MyTonWallet
  4. Tonhub
  5. Bitget Wallet

While many of them are similar to each other, their interfaces are different and they are best suited for different activities. Or, you may just like the interface of some of them. Let’s look closer.

Telegram TON Space

Good for basic work with TON

It’s a noncustodial environment, accessible via Telegram Wallet, where users can store all assets on the TON chain. It shouldn’t be confused with Telegram Wallet itself, which is custodial and connected to the user’s Telegram account. We’ll explore this difference later in the article.

TON Space is, arguably, the best place to start working with TON, as it’s accessible via Telegram, and all tokens can be quickly swapped or withdrawn when needed. There is a vibrant community of P2P transactions among Telegram users. Therefore, it’s possible to quickly sell your TON or USDT and get money in your local currency for almost any country, from the U.S. and Europe to Russia and India.

Using a TON wallet on Telegram

Let’s now quickly explore the Telegram Wallet functionalities, as it’s the place where the TON journey usually begins.

What is a Telegram TON wallet?

All TON wallets mentioned here are noncustodial wallets, meaning they provide only the interface for accessing one’s funds stored on-chain and don’t store any user assets or data. They aren’t responsible for user funds, as they have no access to them.

Compared to them, custodial wallets store and manage user keys, and therefore require that users trust money to them, similar to banks and other traditional financial services. They require less user attention, often are easier to manage, and are responsible for user funds. Still, they aren’t as secure as noncustodial ones.

The Telegram Wallet bot provides access to the custodial TON wallet, connected to the Telegram account. Let’s look closer.

How to set up and use a TON wallet on Telegram

Telegram Wallet is a bot that provides all Telegram users with a custodial wallet, where they can store TON, Bitcoin, and USDT tokens on TON and TRC-20. It doesn’t require you to use a seed phrase, but your funds are managed by Telegram, so they aren’t fully yours, as with noncustodial wallets. However, it enables you to send money to your Telegram contacts quickly, and also supports various options for P2P trading, so you can withdraw crypto easily.

Unlike that, TON space is noncustodial. It’s also accessible via the Telegram Wallet bot, but it has a different interface. It only supports TON and its token, isn’t connected with the Telegram account, and is accessible using the seed phrase.

Benefits of a TON wallet Telegram integration

Telegram wallet is seamlessly integrated with your Telegram account, so you can pay for anything and interact with all applications without leaving Telegram. In addition, you can send money to other users without gas fees, which are present when using TON Space or any other TON wallet. This feature makes it very useful for sending crypto to your contacts or withdrawing it for fiat money.

Still, it’s better to use it only if you need to withdraw money or send it to your contacts. For storing your funds, noncustodial wallets are, generally, more secure and efficient.

Tips for managing your TON coin wallet securely

Let’s wrap the article up with several security tips.

  1. Make sure no one can access your private keys and your wallet’s seed phrase. Never publish or share them, and never submit them anywhere other than legit TON wallet services.
  2. Select wallets that have vibrant communities, maintain regular audits, and provide quick user support. Those are indicators of a stable and well-established product, which cares for its reputation.
  3. Don’t engage with links that prompt you to enter any information about your wallet, other than its public address. Scammers may send you such links in Telegram messages or even as NFTs to your wallet. Don’t interact with them, and you’ll be safe.

TON has its own virtual machine, is very quick and cheap, and integrates with the Telegram messenger. The Telegram audience in early 2025 is about 1 billion people worldwide, who can potentially interact with various dApps, be it for money management or for fun.

While there are problems with scams, fraud, and other malicious activities in Telegram, the messenger’s team is working to solve them. It means that TON continues to develop, with new dApps, tokens, NFTs, and other projects popping up.

So, it's always good to explore its vibrant ecosystem and participate in it.

If you want to participate seriously—you’ll certainly need TON nodes, which is the basis of any blockchain project.
