Godwoken Dedicated Node

Similar to Ethereum’s Optimism and Cardano’s Hydra, Godwoken is a second-layer scalability solution for Nervos Common Knowledge Base (CKB). Built ‘on top’ of Nervos, it dramatically increases its scalability allowing the network to process more transactions per second.

At the same time, Nervos-based Godwoken ecosystem is seamlessly compatible with Ethereum Virtual Machine or EVM. It means that Godwoken makes Nervos interoperable with Ethereum, Polygon, Huobi Eco Chain, and other EVM-compatible blockchains.

Godwoken is connected to Nervos’ Layer-One mechanisms through The Force bridge that, in turn, supports Ether and some whitelisted ERC-20 tokens including USDT, USDC, and DAI stablecoins.

By Q2, 2022, Nervos and Godwoken on-boarded a multi-directional ecosystem of decentralized applications. For instance, Nervos supports YokaiSwap, a one-stop DeFi platform. Its architecture includes AMM-powered DEX, ‘yield farming’ module and native staking gateway.

Nervos has its own decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that runs decentralized stablecoin Nexis Protocol.

Godwoken network design includes three types (‘levels’) of nodes: each type was added gradually at a separate development stage. According to its ‘Decentralized Roadmap’, Godwoken’s initial release included ‘read-only’ nodes that were able to read information off of the blockchain, but had no capability to change it.

During Stage 2, permissionless challenger nodes were introduced. These nodes were focused on challenging the validity of proofs broadcasted from Nervos’ Layer 2. If the challenge is successful, the malefactor loses 100 per cent of its collateral.

Finally, ‘full nodes’ were added during the final stage: they store all kinds of information about blockchain and are therefore responsible for transactions verification.
