GetBlock is a service that provides instant API connection to full nodes from many leading blockchain platforms. The mission of GetBlock is to ensure cost-effective tools and infrastructure that helps enterprises and individual developers to build high-quality decentralized applications (dApps) faster.

GetBlock currently supports mainnets and testnets of over 40 blockchain protocols. All the relevant information on the supported blockchain nodes can be found on Shared Nodes and Dedicated Nodes pages. If you can’t find the node you need, please, contact us and we will do our best to add the requested node to our platform.

Our main servers are currently located in Europe (Germany, Finland, and the Netherlands). We serve our clients worldwide and see great latency in all regions. If you need any particular server location, please, contact us and we will negotiate all possible solutions.

The process of running and maintaining blockchain nodes has a lot of technical issues, it's time-consuming, and requires heavy expenses, etc. GetBlock solves many of these problems by providing easy-to-use, high-performance, and reliable service which replaces the need to run your own node.

Yes, we offer a general Service Level Agreement (SLA) to our customers. If your project requires a certain level of performance, we can negotiate and conclude an individual SLA according to your needs.

Node is an individual database instance in a blockchain containing a copy of the full ledger of such a database, and capable of tracking, sending, getting info about transactions within such database and storing copies of the transactions confirmation. Nodes are used by developers for building blockchain-based applications.

A full node stores all the data in the blockchain, including block headers and data records. It participates in block validation and verifies all blocks and states. An archive node stores everything kept in the full node and builds an archive of historical states.

A dedicated node is more stable since it’s built for a particular client and receives a workload only from him. It also has a higher speed than a shared node since the workload is less. The number of requests that can be sent to the dedicated node is unlimited. As for the shared nodes, the number of requests depends on the chosen package.

Rate limits, the number of API calls an app or user can make within a given time period, are set to a maximum of 200 requests/second. The limits can be exceeded due to overall usage (autoscaling).

There is no rate limiting.

The speed of a dedicated node depends on many factors that affect performance: Internet connection, location of a user and the dedicated node itself, requests (methods) that the user sends, a blockchain and server power. On average, the speed of a shared node is ~ 0.01 sec, and of a dedicated node is ~ 0.004 sec.

Yes, we provide access to archive data on dedicated nodes for most of the supported blockchains. Please, write us back to get the actual information.

It’s quite easy to get started with GetBlock – simply register an account and get your API key for interaction with the required blockchain.

To get connected to a blockchain node, you need to send a request to it. You interact with a node by sending requests to and receiving responses from it via an API. Check out the Authentication with API Key guide to learn more about sending requests to blockchain nodes with GetBlock.
Since we process two types of requests – JSON RPC and WebSockets – they are counted differently. One JSON-RPC request is equal to one requested method from a node, for example, if a user requests three methods in one request in the form of a batch, then our system counts each method and he will spend three requests. As for WebSockets, each response is considered as one request.

The method call is essentially what function a user asks a certain node to execute. Each node has its own set of methods for interaction with the blockchain network which can be found here.

Some requests usage goes beyond the GetBlock.io’s security policy. Particularly, wallet methods (e.g. create a wallet) and those that require private keys to be included (e.g. signing contracts) are strictly prohibited since requiring personal data. The unavailable methods differ depending on a blockchain, for more information please check the Available Nodes Methods section in the GetBlock Documentation.

GetBlock Dashboard is the user's personal page that allows working with API keys, tracking request volume, monitoring statistics, making purchases, and using docs and information about features that are stored. You can set a timespan, check methods for a particular blockchain and monitor valuable insights to understand how your dApp is being used.

The statistics for dedicated nodes are not available at the moment. This feature is under development and will be available soon.

We have an internal monitoring system that helps us to track node performance. If a user needs a custom monitoring system, we can develop and integrate it by request.

The rate limit on shared nodes is 200 requests/second. A user will receive ‘Response code: 429 Too Many Requests’ for each request sent above this limit. Such requests will not be charged off and displayed on the dashboard.

Yes, you can use one API key and connect to all nodes you need at the same time.

We offer both fiat and crypto payment options.

Fiat Payments:

You can pay with a credit card, Google Pay, PayPal, or Apple Pay (Safari browser) in your personal account. Please note that fiat payments may be subject to value-added tax (VAT), which is not included in our price and varies depending on your country.
Bank transfers are available for unlimited shared packages and dedicated node users. An individual agreement is necessary for this option. Please reach out to our team to arrange the payment via bank transfer.

Crypto Payments:

Coinbase Commerce: To make a payment with cryptocurrencies, you can use the Coinbase option available in your personal account. We accept payments in BTC, ETH, DOGE, LTC, BCH, APE, SHIB, and ERC-20 tokens (such as USDT, USDC, and DAI). Please note that when making a payment with ERC-20 tokens, ensure that you only send the supported tokens mentioned above. Sending any other tokens in ERC-20 networks may result in a loss of funds.

Our billing process varies based on the type of service you choose:

Shared Nodes - Pay-per-Request Package:
You can use any Pay-per-Request package for shared nodes until you exhaust your allocated requests. The requests you purchase never expire, allowing you to use them at your own pace.

Shared Nodes - Unlimited Package:
For shared nodes, you have the option to purchase the "Unlimited" package on a monthly, half-yearly, or annual basis. This package offers unlimited requests within the specified timeframe. Longer subscription periods for the Unlimited package come with discounts of up to 20%.

Free Plan:
We also offer a free plan that can be used indefinitely, allowing you to access our services with limited features.

Dedicated Nodes:
If you opt for dedicated nodes, they can be used for 1, 3, 6, 9, or 12 months. The billing period for dedicated nodes is based on the chosen term.

As for the shared nodes, GetBlock provides several fee-based packages – Newbie, Light, Base, Popular, Team, Unlimited – to fit a wide range of budgets and company sizes. Also, we offer a Free package that helps our clients to test their developer’s skills and the service itself.

They differ only by the number of requests to be used. In other words, you can test out the node without buying one of the request packages. The result will be exactly the same as if you bought the package.

A ‘Free' plan offers 40,000 requests that can be used for all our supported shared nodes. These requests are automatically charged to the user’s account once per day. The unused requests from the free package can’t be carried over to the next day.

In case of any issues, please contact us. Our goal is to provide the best level of support 24/7 and resolve our customers’ issues as quickly as possible. We aim to respond to new support requests within 8 hours and provide an update for existing ones for the next 12 hours on business days. Support during weekends is also available, but limited.
