BNB Smart Chain (Binance Smart Chain) &
Dedicated Nodes FAQs
What are the main characteristics of BNB Smart Chain (BSC)?
BSC is short for BNB Smart Chain (formerly Binance Smart Chain). BNB cryptocurrency is used in the BSC network. BNB mining is not possible, since BNB is a native token of Binance exchange. BNB Smart Chain has recently become a powerful alternative for Ethereum virtual machine and the Ethereum network in general. At the same time, the BSC network has support for Ethereum virtual machine. BSC network handles millions of users and billions of daily requests. BSC network is not off-chain and not layer 2 extension.
Advantages of BSC network are minimal commissions and high speed of transactions and smart contracts. A combination of Proof-of-Authority and Delegated Proof-of-Stake algorithms is used to validate transactions. This technology provides cross-compatibility with the Ethereum network. The growing popularity of BNB Smart Chain has a positive impact on the growth of BNB price.

What are the varieties of BSC nodes?
A device with a BSC client installed becomes a light BSC node. Data are passed between the light BSC nodes until they reach the full or dedicated BSC node, which can be either a witness BSC Node or a Validator BSC Node. Witness BSC Nodes contribute the most important data to the BSC blockchain. Validator BSC Nodes are replace BNB mining, as they are responsible for achieving consensus in the network. Configuring the Witness BSC Nodes and Validator BSC Nodes is similar. Also public and dedicated BSC Nodes extending the chain characteristics and states around the BSC network. Originally, there were only 21 Validator BSC Nodes in the BSC network – node owners with special privileges from the Binance community. In the future, there will be more Validator BSC Nodes. But for running this type of node, special permission from Binance community is required.
Requirements and benefits of BSC dedicated nodes
According to the Binance documentation, BSC dedicated nodes require a BSC server running Mac OS X or Linux. Dedicated BSC servers must have at least 1Tb free disc space on SSD, 16GB RAM and 8 cores or more CPU. A Net connection of at least 1 megabyte per second is also required. BSC dedicated nodes have many advantages. These are especially the high speed BSC connection and the reliability of the connection as well as the access security. BSC dedicated node – no more syncing time, no more waiting. Private node infrastructure also ensures data correctness and consistency.
The web3 services and DeFi applications are tested by the developers to ensure they work correctly on the BSC testnet before being run on BSC mainnet. The settings for BSC mainnet and BSC testnet are almost identical – only the BSC node connection parameters differ. BSC archive blockchain nodes access to full archive data allowing to query historical states for both BSC mainnet and BSC testnet. BSC dedicated nodes provide personal, geographically diverse, and protected API endpoints to interact with BNB Smart Chain (Binance Smart Chain) network.

How do developers build services based on BSC?
The BSC network is rapidly gaining popularity as the basis for a variety of web3 services and DeFi applications. It is tools, analytics, trading bots, private node infrastructure and more. This requires developers to set up blockchain nodes-as-a-service. BSC dedicated nodes provide excellent BSC mempool sniping and ultra-reliable websocket connectivity. Also, BSC dedicated nodes empower users to build their decentralized apps and digital assets. BSC history blockchain nodes store historical states of values in smart contracts as well as all balances of an account are accessible. Choose any BSC API method (JSON-RPC, REST or WebSockets), according to project needs. Open the Wallet section to allow Metamask node connection.
